4:11 sounds like Doc for when he tells Marty about what he did, and what will happen.

@vindfab, agreed this is one of the finest shows ever written for television. I used to think it was The Dick Van Dyke show, but now my heart and mind have warmed again to the characters. I care about these fictional people. I think that’s what’s missing in television today.

They had so much down time in that garage. I am grateful to have seen this show when it first aired, but it’s only now that I’m older I realize the quality of the writing. Not just waxing sentimental here I am enchanted to see this. Thanks for posting.

Louie tells Alex that Jim can “See the Future” , someone must have locked that line away – this came out a few years before “Back to the Future” was released.

I am not a big fan of American sitcoms n general ,but Soap, Taxi, The Golden Girls and Frasier are the exceptions for me. All these shows remained brilliant snd funny.

I actually remember seeing this episode as a kid. Along with the Rev. Jim college flashback episode (with Tom Hanks as a pothead), this one is my favorite!

Ever see Barney MIller? I thought that was very funny too. Soap and Taxi are awesome. WKRP in Cincinnati was pretty funny too.

I think there were reruns on WPIX or some channel like that until the early 2000s.
