@aj929498 The breast cancer comment was unnecessary. Prayers for all victims for cancer.

Thank you Kathy Bates for shedding light on this silent killer. I lost my mom this year to ovarian cancer after an eight year battle. She didn’t know she had it and put off visiting her doctor. Her story is so common and we need to get the message out to all women. Thank you again for sharing your personal story.

Thank you Kathy! I am a 15 yr survivor of stage 3 clear cell carcinoma, diagnosed in my early 30s. For those, just diagnosed, keep fighting! There is hope!

If you have not been diagnosed, watch for the symptoms, and if you think there is a problem, ask for an intravaginal ultrasound.

thank you Kathy Bates!! I am now a 5 year O/C survivor! I was diagnosed with 2C stage…I did all the chemo stuff…
I guess I am one of the lucky ones….although the chemo gave me severe peripheral neuropathy in my feet and it is painful and difficult to walk.. I
I first noticed that my stomach was bigger and that didn’t make sense..and I had to pee alot,,and I could feel a large soft lump in my stomach..it was clear, but
the one ovary was ugly looking…

BRAVO!!! First for surviving, second for the advice. Women really need to hear this. The “spitting up” is some kind of gastroparesis, I have it too. I had a lot of the same symptoms, but the doctors found Stein Leventhal Syndrome (PCOS) and not cancer. The doctors aren’t always that great about helping, one doctor told me to psych myself out of the symptoms. You can’t quite do that. I realized if it’s “odd” then check the ovaries. it’s also bull@h*t that insurance can deny you for pcos.

@ashlyrm14 Fortunately here in Australia, all public medical treatment is free. Our high taxes fund our medical system. No one needs to find money for good health treatment. And, we have free screenings for certain cancers. Prostate & Breasts.

@aj929498 I mistyped. 75 % of ovarian cancer patients have 15-35% survival (overall ovarian cancer survival with the lucky early diagnosed patients added is 45%)

My mother was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer recently. Thank you, Kathy Bates for getting the word out. She also is going through 6 rounds of chemo. She is doing well also. She is my inspiration. You are an inspiration as well. We need some more awareness about this disease. God bless all of the strong, brave women going through this. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I also have ovarian cancer. I am only 24, I have a 2 and 3 yr old. I beat all the statistics. I shouldnt have cancer this young, at least this type. Myself and a few other women, and men, have started a charity group helping gynecological and breast cancer patients in financial assistance. 100% of proceeds go to the cause.
